whats the best multi player game?

i was wonderin what do yall consider the best multi player game?

there is no best, thats just an oppinion, although I strongly feel that BF2 > all. CSS right now does it for me as an MP FPS.

Counter Strike: Source, baby! Except when they come out with the new Battlefield... the trailer looked pretty awesome. I'd have to say when the new Battlefield comes out, it'll make Counter Strike look like a Nintendo game.

 

Wow, you actually play BF Vietnam? That game pissed me off after a very short period of time and I went back to BF 1942 and CS immediately, that is until Guild Wars came out.

 

Which reminds me, i though Operation Flashpoint was one of the best single FPS experiences ever. It took you through all the stages(of war)and gave you an awesome feel of control over a platoon/tank colum etc. at times, and single man running from an army at others. All the asortment of vehicles over uber large terrains really helped too.

 

Operation flashpoint was and is awsome its the best most open ended fps ever made,the sense of freedom is incredible,there is no limit or restrictions to how you can complete the missions.You can go in single handedly as a sniper and take everyone out,steal an enemy helecopter and waste an entire enemy base or send your troops in and just sit back and chill.The weapon sights are the best in any game period as are the sound of the bullets flying past or hitting you in the stomach,with a good sound system you will be ducking.

Its the only game I have ever bought twice,I have the original and the game of the year edition and best of all op flash 2 is out this year

I dont like bf1942 simply because when you get hit the guy goes "oo,oo'ahhh"then dies and you cant tell where the bullets are coming from and unless you are in an aircraft your as good as dead.

 

well dudes i still have lots of fun with ut20004 as i refuse to join a clan
i have lots of buddies online we all make our own maps and mods so the game is always open for anybody to win and is interesting i only ever paid the intial price ut2004-retail.
And they continue to develope the software without paying for further expansion packs but then again its what you like.
software development in games companys is better than previous years but i find a good guide is how much has your game cost you to play it and all its scenarios to the standard you enjoy.
including all the new hardware for better fps-ping-etc....

 

After playing and mastering Starsiege: Tribes, all other FPS are child's play.

So, I vote Starsiege: Tribes.

how is Guild Wars, wasn't interested in it until i saw the... FREE ONLINE TIME.. which is like hella yeah

 

I see a lot of people like it.

Myself, I found it extremely boring.

NCsoft screwed up when they sent my copy and sent 2 CD inserts, so for the price of one, my wife plays too.

She too, found it boring though.

Nice graphics though. The invisible barriers kill the immersion for me.

My ten year old son loves it. I found it to simply, however it's great that you can drop in and out of the game at anytime.

I have to say StarCraft... Yeah, im in the stoneage with my PIII 600, but still! UMS'es are still awesome and its an Easy to setup/burn langame.

Definately. Funny thing is I started playing it came out - tried the other versions, and went back to T1. Quit for awhile until a few weeks ago. I never mastered the game though, but its still the best.

Enemy Territory is a good online game & best of all is it is FREE .Get The all-seeing eye to find servers, which is also FREE but can be upgraded for a few $. There are lots of places you can download the game & extra maps and this site has some good tips/info on the game.

A few of my favorite multiplayer games of all time are on the N64.

Goldeneye, Mario Kart 64, and Super Smash Brothers.

Other than that, Counter-Strike and UT2004.

Bestestestes game ever during beta; it went retail and it became shat, still shat today... never recoevered from retail splurge I guess.

Steel beasts. I think it's the BEST ground combat sim EVER! Even though the graphics suck, the physics are AWESOME, the sound rocks(actual sound recordings from actual tanks, APCs, weapons, etc.), and the multiplayer community is the nicest, oldest(age wise, lol), and bestest I've ever participated in. It's way better than any other ground combat sim that I've played. This is the Tank-geeks tank sim.

Aahhhh.... There's nothing like sitting atop a hill, blasting away Russian T-72s from 3.75 km away, or sneaking behing enemy lines and commencing to lob Depleted-uranium penetrators of destruction among the ranks of your enemy.

Steel beasts pro personal Edition(Uber simmy version, expensive)/Steel beasts 2(consumer version) is comin' out sometime this year/next year too! Yay!

 

The fps games I have played were, Quake 1. Progressed to Quake 1 Creeper mod. Then started playing Tribes 1. Found Major Geeks through their server. I'll probably start playing CS, now that MG Tribes server is going away. (My kid's cd is around here, somewhere.....)

 

hmmmm, remindes me WW2 Online; I was in it since launch day but since then quit. It was a frustrating game to say the least; but there was nothing more rewarding to see a char running across an empty field trying to reach the city borderlines and that one gorgeous shell hitting directly on its radiator and seeing that baby burn because that HE you just lobbed hit the weapons cache on the dime. Man good times!

 

Yeah, that's always fun. In SB, i like calling an HE arty strike on infantry. *cackle*

I also like it when you hit a T-72 in the ammo-storage area. That turret flys up at least... 30-50 feet.
