what's this error

    Hey Geeks,can u actually tell me why this error come....i thought of decreasing the bit rate of this mp3 file
    using Switch software and this error pops up....
    "cannot open the file "c:\audio1.mp3",It is possibly wither corrupt or not true layer-3MPEG file"..
    Please tell me what to do:wave
