Apologies for the quality of the image... kwik pic... I'm pulling an old machine apart and I haven't seen one of these before. Function Dc1209C1. I can find a link to purchase one, but no description of what the heck it actually is.
It's got a telephone jack socket... a 15 pin female serial socket... and a female co-axial socket ( that's what really threw me ).

Tv, video card? dunno.... hope it is 'cos I could use that! :cool

It's greek to me, but is this any help:

    DC1209C1

    Vendor: TOSHIBA
    Package Cooled: DIP
    D/C: 07+
    Description

operational when the bus is attached to an off-board service node. This node shall provide temporary bus electrical loads which facilitate higher speed operation. Such temporary loads shall be removed when not performing download operations.
    Applications

The LTC®4440 is a high frequency high side N-channel MOSFET gate driver that is designed to operate in applica- tions with VIN voltages up to 80V. The DC1209C1 can also withstand and continue to function during 100V VIN tran- sients. The powerful driver capability reduces switching losses in MOSFETs with high gate capacitances. The DC1209C1s pull-up has a peak output current of 2.4A and its pull-down has an output impedance of 1.5Ω.
    Features

An inhibit is provided to allow a logic input to shut down the converter. An open circuit on the inhibit pin (pin 2 or 8) allows normal operation. A connection between the inhibit pin and the input common (pin 10) disables the internal oscillator, shutting down the output. The inhibit pin has an open circuit voltage of 11 to 16 V on single output models, 8 to 12 V on DC1209C1 and 10 to 14 V on DC1209C1. In the inhibit mode, approximately 1 mA must be sunk from the inhibit pin. An active low open collector is required to acti- vate the inhibit function.

Thats an old style Network Interface Controller. It is able to use any one of the 3 interfaces, but only one at a time.

The first network I had in my home was with the BNC connection using coaxial cable. (the center connection)

I can't tell by looking at the pic for sure but virtually all of these I have ever seen are ISA for computers from 80286 to the early Pentium computers or EISA for old servers.

The ethernet port on that controller would be 10 baseT.

In other words I might as well bin it... :D

Preferably, recycle it to keep any precious metals and other contaminants out of landfills and water tables.
