Sometimes when I'm searching for a computer problem, I find the same thread posted on 4-5 different message boards. The exact same one, replies and all. Why does this happen?

    Because computers are stupid.

Also --- because the search word you input may appear dozens of times on a page that the search tool looks at. Since the computer is stupid, it'll post all the matches to your search, regardless if they are on the same page or not.

    Hope that makes sense. :)
