Whats wrong with my CD burner?

    I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem... We recently bought a used computer from a rent to own place. The CD/DVD drive works fine, but when I try to burn a CD it doens't recognize that there is a blank CD already in the drive. The first day we had it the burner worked, but now it won't work at all. Any tips anyone could share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Are you sure it's not the disc? Have you tried just this one or any other different ones?

    What software do you have installed to burn cd's?

    I have tried burning CD's using Realplayer, Windows Media Player and HP Photo Smart Premier, same results with all of them. I have also tried using Sony CD-RWs as well as Maxell CD-Rs, both with the same results as well.

    firmware? if it was recent enough you may consider bringing back if you can figure it out.
