I posted this once before, still unable to find solution. Im running pent4, win xp pro, I've done all the windows updates,
I have a creative dvd-rom, and a yamaha cd-r. My system recognizes the two cd drives, but the drives don't recognize the cd's when I put them in tray, music, data or otherwise.
I've tried uninstalling both cd roms and rebooting, getting upgraded software from respective vendors, I even reinstalled windows xp.
If anyone out there can help me resolve this, it would be greatly appreciated....

Do you mean they don't auto run or when you go to the drives they don't show to have a disc in them?

Try putting your DVD drive on it's own IDE cable as master, or if it has to be with something else, put the hard drive as slave.

I had that problem with an older CD-RW. It would not recognize some disks that I'd bought. The disks worked fine when I upgraded my CD-RW. I read somewhere that not all disks work in all drives.
