What's wrong with my NAV program

Well i bought a Nav Security 2005 cd a week ago cause my old one was about to run out.Well i installed it and it wont let me install the updates .I figured i bought a lemon but the definitions say 10/2006 so that's not the problem then i tried reinstalling and still wont work.Any idea what i can do cause i even downloaded the NAV definitions from this site and it says my account is expired ?.Anyway do you guys think when i was getting rid of my old NAV maybe some traces are still around

My NAV still says the latest definition is October 10th despite me trying to update it

 

The directions tell you which one you need to run based on what you had installed. After you have run the proper uninstallers make sure you delete the directories under C:\Program Files and delete any registry keys left over.

 

I uninstalled NAV 2005 then ran the SymNRT from the site then rebooted my pc.Wasn't SymNRT suppose to get rid of whatever was left over or no

 

It's supposed to, but doesn't always get rid of everthing, especially if you have upgraded your Norton/Symantec products before. You'll need to manually remove a few things after running the SymNRT cleaner and if you had NIS installed the you'll need to run RnisUPGD also.

 

One last question i'm using NAV 2005 and my latest virus definitions are 10/12/2006 but when i try to download these http://majorgeeks.com/Norton_Virus_Definitions_d3995.html

That's when i get the message my liveupdate wont work and download updates through liveupdate or am i not suppose to download these

 

Now i see the problem it wont let me run the SARC Intelligent Updater which is odd i never had this problem with my old NAV 2004 i just uninstalled

 

Is the SARC Intelligent Updater giving you a error message?

Don't really need to know what it say's just is that what shows in the message box.

Ya SARC is telling me my liveupdate is expired which it isn't since it says 10/9/2006 anyway do i need to do those steps in the link with my norton already off my pc cause like step 4 says install NAV which is already on my pc.My last question am i doing all this for nothing or do you have NAV or know people with NAV who run liveupdates as well as manual updates

 

Yes. I just scanned thru the procedure but that was my understanding, uninstall NAV 2005 before starting the steps in the link.

Or, you could wait for other responses. Someone might have a better solution, I am not sure this will work for you.
