What's wrong with my pc??????????

Not sure this is the right place but here it goes. I've been using a PIII 850 w/ 384 megs sdram w/ Me. I upgraded to a P4, 2.4, 512 megs ddr2700 and XP Pro. The problem is, the old system smokes the new one. Same programs loaded, same programs in the start up. Both HD's 7200. Everything in the new pc is faster than the old one, except the speed of it. What's up???????? Is it the XP Pro or what should I try with it???? Thanks,

It is a new pc, custom built. Nothing installed but the OS. I've installed Office 2000 on it. I run spyware blaster, spybot and adaware as well as several virus checks just like I do with the old system. It sees all the memory and programs. Benchmark test are better with the old 850 also. Could it be the XZ Pro????

Let me go through Black vipers tweaks and see if it helps. All drivers are up to date. Thanks for the help.
