    32 inch diagonal -- better than 34 or 36 for picture quality in non-Hi Def . . . oh, you mean computer screen. . . :D

I like my res-es with no 0's in it. That'll get yer moneys worth ;) Nah seriously, I use 1152x864 cause i can fit a maximised IE window @ 800x600 or 1024x768 without it filling the whole screen (good for designing/coding. And also i like my writing small :) so i can fit lots of stuff on my lil monitor. I also run Winamp at scale 75% for the same reason.

    1280x960 @75hz on a 19in LCD using DVI. It supports up to 1280x1024 @75hz (I thought LCDs didn't use above 60hz?)

1280x1024 does not follow proper....whatchacallit, aspect ratio of 3:4 for non wide screen monitors.

Oh it works, but it skews things just slightly out of proportion ;)

If you have a game that supports both, try it out.

In Dark Age of Camelot, if you choose 1280x1024 vs. 1152x864, you will notice the round circles that are used to drop down menus at the top of the screen are oval, not a circle.

Go back to 1152x864, and they are perfectly round again.

ill try it out, although I got bored of dark age after a few weeks of 50 and sold my account so ill try another game :)

1280x960 is the true round aspect ratio. If you're doing any graphic work then that's what it needs to be.

I run two monitors off an ATI Radeon 9800 XT:
    DVI: 1600x1200 60Hz (native) 32bit 21.3" Samsung 213T TFT
    CRT: 1600x1200 85HZ 32bit 22" ViewSonic P225f ag

My eyes won't let me go any higher on any card/monitor combo.

I like none of the above on my XP system with a 17" monitor. I use 1280x768 because I wanted better than 1024x768 and when I tried higher resolutions I just could not adjust the monitor settings to get the desktop window from being warped in a way I didn't like.

1400x1050 on 19" 1600 a bit too much and 1280 too little. Not offered by ATI drivers as standard but can be fixed with tweakers or Omega drivers. He have quite a few extra res, all in 3:4 aspect. Good options also for optimizing games. I prefer normal non-tweaked ATI drivers but found it easy to copy and paste from Omega and get those resolution without having to run Powerstrip or whatever :) Hard to understand why ATI hide those res.

    1360x1020
    1400x1050
    1520x1140
    1600x1000

are those I have been testing, good for 19" or higher users. Omega did a nice upgrade in one of the later versions. Now possible to change refreshrate no matter res, before you had to pick a fixed setting.

Suppose Rivatuner can do the same for Nvidia cards.
