When download AVG Anti-Virus Program Error Comes Up!

The error reads cannot find Shell.DLL and it says it cannot find C:\DOCUME~\..\LOCALS~1\Temp\WZS35.tmp\setup.exe (or one of its components) Check to ensure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are avaible.

Does anyone have any suggestions hehe....

I have also had this issue when installing avg from a 2nd hard drive to the c: - If the above doesnt work, copy the install file to the desktop and try installing from there.

    Thanks for the help
That sounds like the problem because I remember having to delete those files because of Viruses
The only problem is that you lost me after you said "You'll need to delete the files because they may be altered, infected copies, and then copy the freshly downloaded file into both directories"
I dont know how to use DOS and the COMMANDS to install it?
Can you help me out with that?

After you have created the bootable floppy, downloaded the shell.dll file from the supplied link and copied it to the floppy:

1 Boot the computer from the floppy.
2 At the A:\ prompt, type "C:" and hit Enter.
3 At the C:\ prompt, type "cd windows" and hit Enter. (Change Directory to Windows)
4 You are now in the Windows directory and can delete the shell.dll file by typing "del shell.dll" and hit Enter.
5 Then type "copy a:\shell.dll" and hit Enter. (File will be copied from the floppy to the Windows directory.
6 Type "a:" and hit Enter.
7 Repeat steps 2 thru 5, except, in step 3, additionally type "cd system32" and hit Enter to change to the c:\Windows\system32 directory.
8 Remove the floppy and press Ctrl-Alt-Del to restart your computer.

Do I format it so it is a DOS START UP Disc? Or do I just format it?
Also can I just download the Shell.DLL directly from the site onto the floppy, or do I have to Unzip it than place it in?

It wouldn't allow me to switch from A to C. It said it was Invalid.
Also know my Floppy wont let me Format it again

Your hard drive must be formatted NTFS. You may need an alternate way to recover a good shell.dll file. See instructions here to see how to Extract and Replace a Protected File in Windows XP.
