When using the CD Writing Wizard, I get "Access is denied"

Hi,

I write my word documents to cd - that works fine. Hwr, when I try to modify / edit any of these word documents it won't let me, and asks me to save as a new file name. I try changing the file settings so 'read only' is not ticked, but it doesn't let me do it! Thus, I can't overwrite files I want to overwrite..

Please can someone tell me how I can write word docs to cd, in a way that lets me edit them in the future?

Are you using CD-R or CD-RW disks? Are you finalizing the disks when you write to them? If it is a CD-R, then this is normal. Once it is written and closed, then you can't do anything to the files recorded on them. You can extract the files to a folder on your computer, such as "My Documents", remove the read only attribute, and modify them. If you are using CD-RW disks, then there is one format where you can make it like a floppy disk, able to edit, delete, etc. I believe it is El Torrito, but may be wrong. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable will reply!

I am using a CDRW, and when I put folders that have 'read only' unchecked property for all files, they suddenly become read only when written to disc!

I'll try the extraction method u described and the El Torrito format later tonight (got 2b somewhere all day 2day), and post whether they work for me or not.
