Whenever I try to open Windows Media Player...

    I get a beep sound, the same sounds as when a web site launches an alert. and then nothing happends. It doesnt open.

    Also, my desktop is frozen. I cant open anything by left clicking on the desktop. Right clicking works fine. I have run Norton and it is updated. Nothing. I have also run Spybot and adaware, both updated.

    Any suggestions?

    Does it happen in Safe Mode?

    I know the beeps won't, but can you left click, and open Media Player and such?
