Where can I get/find a very strong wifi antenna?

I travel a lot for work and well most of the time the hotel's internet is really slow or a very weak signal.

Where can I get a very long range antenna? Preferably one that reaches a few football fields or longer?

What's the range like on that? Also, I've heard there's some out there than can pull a signal about a mile away? That way I can just get on McDonald's wifi near the hotel or somethin

 

Probably the only wireless you will be getting a mile away is from a directional antennae. but i could be wrong.

 

I'm not sure of the range. But there's an interchangeable higher gain antenna for it and it IS directional. I doubt that you can find something with a mile long range, but 600 yards? — maybe.

 

They really only work, if the antenna is located outdoors. Hawkin makes some good ones, but you also need the lightning protector to ground the antenna, to earth ground, so that adds to the cost.

BTW, any router with standard antennas on it, if placed outdoor, will reach almost 300 yards if there are no obstructions between it, and it is placed high enough.
