Where can I go to ask about recording on VCR with a digital convertor box?

Does anyone here know where I can get advice on how to record on a VCR now that we've switched over to a digital converter box? Are there any forums out there dedicated to this type of stuff?

My mother loves recording shows that she misses because she is driving a school bus or out dancing. And, no, it's not soap operas, it's stuff like Dr. Oz and The Doctor's TV.

We would like to buy her for Christmas what she needs to be able to do this again.

Can anybody help me? I'm usually pretty good about setting stuff up and working through problems like this, but I am stumped.
