If anyone is so-inclined to take a peek at this---> http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=247486 and please let me know what I did that was so awful, please?

Where did I go wrong, and is it (could it be) as simple as; "I should have just agreed, said "okay", and let it go"??

Unlike Charlie Sheen (though actually quite a bit like him), I've been "LOSING"...or sure seeming to, more often than not, lately, and I'm feeling as if I need to re-take the "Human Being 101" class, that I received a "C" (or was it a "C-" [minus]??) in the first time around........

    Thanks in advance,
    Signed: "Glenn the Perpetual Tryer"
PS ~ i did "not" rate that thread?!?

Hmmm, interesting thread since your question could be taken as "Picking sides".

So with that in mind , I am very much like you and will ask questions to clarify an answer to a previous question. For me, when money is tight and I am about to spend a chunk I want to make sure 100% I'm going to be happy with my purchase.

This type of behaviour can annoy/agitate some people who understand the topic at hand more than you do and can sometimes not understand why you do not grasp what is being said.
I am often on both sides of this. Many of us are.

This is probably not what is actually going on, but your posts read almost as if you are being deliberately obtuse. Like I said, probably not what is actually going on, but the vibe I get from reading that thread is that you almost refuse to understand when your questions are answered. Which is probably what caused the problem.

I don't think the attitude comes from just one thread. Many of your threads start with you asking a question, you get some answers, but then there are more questions. More answers come only to be met with more questions. It's as if you really don't want an answer, but a dialog.

Take the thread you referenced. You ask about the difference between TVs and monitors. Someone gives you a link to something that does both, yet you find something else that does both and ask why one is $20 more than the other. The one that's $20 more isn't available, so it's irrelevant, yet you still ask why if it were available why it costs $20 more. You're hung up on which one is better, when you could ask "will the one that's available and in my price range suit my needs?". It almost appears if you're waiting for someone to give you an answer that agrees with what you had in mind.

I'm not trying to be mean, but that's what it looks like to me. Your RAM question went much the same way.

I won't get into the semantics or personal interactions of the thread, but basically there reasons why people buy monitors and televisions separately. Monitors are better for computer work, (and most people don't want a 50" monitor even if they could afford it), and televisions are better for T.V. The resolution may/may not be lower on the television but it's not needed to watch movies anyway.
Yes, you can combine functions of both, but it will always be a compromise.
Sorry if this reply sounds pedantic, but that is about as easy to understand as I can make it.

    "NOT" about "picking sides".

    It's "about" rural.

    Alone.

    Lonely.

    "Disabled" (so they say).

"Dialog"...yes, sure...why the hell not? Geeks got a problem with that? (of course that's rhetorical, as we know some do).

    Thanks to all.

Please accept my apology if this is obtuse, verbose, "anti-pedantic" (???)... . . .

I don't get some ... most, of it. Most of "this" (technology, nor some of the replies, or, "parts" of some of them, here...and elsewhere).

    Sorry.

    I "do" apologize.

    I "am" generally polite.
