where did this drive come from and go to?

Man the problems never seem to end. Lol. Yesterday i added an external Plextor PX-504UF and i did a firmware update. Well after the update suddenly a Drive G appeared. Well this drive G wont disappear and it doesnt even know what drive G is. I added a screenshot so you can see what I mean. I have never seen or even heard of this kind of problem. Running windows XP pro and if u need any other info just ask.

 

right click on "my computer" and click on manage. then on the left pane, go to "disk management". now see if you can find your drive G. then... yeah. so we know what it is and possibly find a way to get rid of it.

 

Drive "G" IS your external drive that you added.
You dont want to get rid of it!!!

 

Lol sorry i forgot to mention some other things..i unhooked the drive for a moment and hooked that H drive in cuz they are both firewire and i only have one firewire port. The G drive was still there and the dvd burner driver was another drive..i cant remember letter its still unhooked. The problem has seemed to fix itself though because G isnt there anymore. If it comes back after i hook the drive up I'll do what Strogg recomended. Thanx for help though guys and possible gals..Lol

 

im not sure what the deal is....as a last resort you could probably try uninstalling all traces of the drive in windows...and reinstalling. But other than 'first' resorts, im have no idea.

By the way, can i ask what theme your using?...style xp or something?

 

im using style xp and the theme is called setinel and im of course using the blue option of it. haha.
