where is mail on IE7 menu bar?

    I have just had a hard drive format and tech loaded up IE7. The only thing is the mail Icon. How do I get it onto the menu bar ? I have to go to desktop and open Outlook Express from there. I have taken the tour but am no wiser. Any ideas?

    select: customise command bar
    select: add or remove commands
    select: read mail
    select: add
    close
