    XP/W2003 have %windir$/$hf_mig$ and %windir%/%ntuninstallKB99999$ directories.
"If you know what you are doing", these can be deleted so conserve space (i.e. to keep ghost images maintainable).

What are the equivalent directories in Windows 2008?

    Hi

Not at a Server 2008 PC at present but from memory Server 2008 does not create that uninstall $NTUninstall folder, the hotfixes are just installed and not backed up as in client versions of Windows as in XP, Vista, 7

Thanks, that's good news (I guess unless you have to uninstall an update...).

I was hoping the answer would be:
    C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download
