Where Should Hiberfil.sys Be Stored?

I've been using Bitdefender for about a year without problems. This morning when I ran it, it came up with an error - it said it could not find HIBERFIL.SYS, PAGEFILE.SYS, or SWAPFILE.SYS.

I searched for these files and I found them all at C:\. Each file was time-stamped at 11:45, shortly after I put the computer to sleep.

I usually put the computer to sleep so that it starts up faster in the morning, and from my understanding of the app note on MajorGeeks, hiberfil.sys is required.

What is the correct location for hiberfil.sys?

 

The root of the boot drive is correct. I have 2 boot drives installed. I did a search with the 'Everything' search app and it found hiberfil.sys and pagefile.sys @ C:\ and H:\. On my system I found no swapfile.sys maybe because I have 8 gb memory and not running any programs requiring such swap space.

The swap file is the page file.
You should definitely contact Bitdefender.

 

Here's an article showing a new use for swapfile in Win 8-10. Maybe bitdef was searching in one of these systems.

On one of my '10's I do have all 3 on the root of the c: drive.
My first search was on this , a Win 7 pro.

Thank you for your replies. I downloaded and PDF'ed the first link supplied by Imandy Mann, I did not check the second link. Also I did not (yet) contact Bitdefender.

For now (and due to Imandy Mann's reply) I think I'll continue without doing anything about this issue, and will wait until the next couple of scans occur. If the same issue arises, then I will contact Bitdefender like Eldon suggested.
