Where the heck does IE7 store history?

since we all know that IE does not clear tracks properly, I have the following question:

in IE6 you could go to the documentsandsettings/current user/local settings/history and individually delete items out of the history. this file and folder does not exist anymore. I used to be able to go to the temp internet files folder and delete individual items from that too, but now that's gone. I even have IE7 set to delete temp internet files upon close, and it doesn't!even when you go to the registry and delete typed URLS manually, they still show up in the address bar when typed!!

what's really odd is that I don't even use IE7 alot, I use firefox with history disabled, but somehow IE still tracks the steps in it's history. How can this be?

Where can I find all of IE7's hidden stuff and delete history items manually so that they actually delete?

If this helps, yes, I do have windows file explorer set to show hidden and system files.
