Where to buy software?

Hi Guys,

I am planning to buy some software. Which shop do you usually go to?

Anybody offer some suggestion about where is good to buy downloadable soft? And where to buy retail box?

It depends on what you're after. Games are best bought at a place like BestBuy or WalMart even (ugh! I can't believe I recommended BestBuy and WalMart in the same sentence). Stuff like office programs (like Office 2007 for example) are best purchased from a place like OfficeMax or OfficeDepot, or online from Tiger or Egghead. Many other programs can be downloaded and paid for online. If you could tell us what types of programs you're looking for, we may be able to recommend some FREE titles that will do as good a job or better than their paid counterparts.

Easy Recovery Professional from Ontrack. It's really easy to use and quicker than most, and has lots of other useful features like Word/Excel document repair, .zip file repair, email repair, etc. I have version 6 and it's awesome. Lots of people like GetDataBack. I haven't used it but it's got fairly high ratings.

There's a few free data recovery programs that work fairly well also. They're generally slower, have less features, and in some cases aren't very user friendly, but they do work in most except the most catastrophic situations.

Hi

What is your country of origin as while software can be bought over the internet easily from anywhere, some companies will not ship a "retail box" ( if by retail box you mean a new full PC or the boxed software ) to all countries, also conversion rates may negate an savings on items, opposed to if you buy them in your country.

Most software listed there is as good as most $$$$ software. It all depends on what software you are after, of course.
