Where to buy XP

It will be my birthday soon (Sept. 25). My Dad wanted to get me XP and looked at Walmart, they have an upgrade version of the home edition for $100. I know I can do better, have done better in fact, so I talked him out of it. Does anyone have a better place in the United States to get this (shipping included and credit cards accepted)?

I have looked at Surplus Computers and seen copies of XP Pro that are labeled NFR. What does this mean?

There is something wrong with that statement, because I can and have done cheaper on legit disks with the certification holograph. It wasn't with Surplus Computers, the names I'll hold back to protect the innocent and/or guilty. I'll probably stick with the companies I've done business with in the past.

Sounds like the most reasonable interpritation.

I've noticed that OEM deals (I know what this means) are cheaper than their equivalents.

So what are the advantages of Pro vs. Home? What little I know (and about XP I don't know much) Pro would seem a no brainer. Am I right, or is there something I need to know.

 

again, it's all licensed software Microsoft dictates how much the software can and will be sold for on a per license basis. Wether the seller has a volume licensing deal is another story but individual retail prices will be almost the same across the board and by that I mean a few dollars difference.

 

I take it! Last time I bought it was around $83, OEM Pro, shipping included. Better my pocket than theirs.
