Normally i would just to a windows update and it would pick up drivers for onboard display.

However its not getting any for mine this time. So i just have ''microsoft generic display adapter''.

I want use my intel hd graphics, i have an asrockq1900m motherboard with an integrated j1900 chipset.

Also maybe this requires a different thread of its own but any idea why i am prompted in a black screen '' bootmrg is missing'' sometimes when i boot my OS?

I know i installed everything correctly and it boots fine when i press crtl, alt del. However this pops up often. I did ran test(s) on hard drive the OS is installed and it passed however i have had occasions where sometimes some hard drives pass tests and they still somewhat faulty.

What would be a good recommended software to test hard drives for bad sectors etc..?

I am thinking maybe the ''bootmrg is missing'' occasional error may be due to a faulty hard drive but not sure if its something else regarding my bios settings

The "bootmrg is missing'' error is pretty common. Here is a Microsoft Support document that deals with this issue with Vista and up:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2622803

Requires the install CD you used to load windows.

If you have more than one drive in your system, check your BIOS settings and make the correct bootable device is selected as the boot drive. This is a common cause of this error. Also, you can try setting your BIOS settings to their default state.

A good resource for troubleshooting hardware issues is the Ultimate Boot CD:

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/ultimate_boot_cd_(ubcd).html

Contains a lot of utilities to trouble shoot hard drives, CPU, RAM, Etc. Most of the utilities have just a basic GUI, so I sugggest you research whatever utility you wants to use to get a handle on how it operates.

Initially when i installed an OS the bios detected the drive where i installed it just fine.

However ever since i started getting those bootmgr missing errors ( not very long after os install) the hard drive the OS is in doesn't pop up in the bios nor is it available in boot options by pressing f12.

However usually when i press crtl, alt del after that message it boots to the OS fine. Sometimes i have to do it more than once but regardless it still boots to the OS system and i once its in there i haven't encountered much issues.

Ill make a clone of the HD, although i don't really mind if it goes to crap because this is just a test computer i build to test hardware i get or from my other computers. I got the HD from one of my jobs, they usually throw away old parts or computers they don't have use for anymore so they let me keep them however sometimes half of the stuff they throw away has issues ( like bad PSU, bad memory and er.. bad hard drives).

I actually got the drivers from a most major attitude linked me to.
display Drivers also fixed my issue with an lcd that wasn't working on windows 8

I did actually try initially to get them from the asrock site but nothing would show up for my motherboard.

Also i ran test again in the hard drive and it passed them all again and it said nothing was wrong nor were there any errors in the hard drive.

I am not sure how good these hard drive tests actually are though because previously i also tested another hard drive and it passed everything but it failed and caused issues the next day ( how ironic)..

Seems my bootmgr message went away

I still wanted to clone my drive however i am having problems using easues cloning software

When i click for it to boot from usb, HD or cd it launches the application however shortly after it starts it locks out my keyboard and mouse and i cannot proceed anymore.

I thought the issue was due to booting from usb so i switched to a cd, and also tried via hard drive and still have same issues...

My motherboard seems to have safety lock features but i checked and i couldn't see anything being disabled
