where to get Word processor.

    I need Microsoft word processor or something good to write all my papers for collage.My teachers will not accept anything hand written.It all has to be done on computers even math history everything written requires a laptop and floppy cd and printer,all i got in word pad and notepad but it doesnot have what i need.

    Their products are expensive, but there is a significant discount for being in college (for the student teacher edition), which should be all you need. You can get it at any of the usual computer/office stores. Price will be anywhere from 60-150 dollars. Check online also, you can probably find it cheaper. Buy new, not used.

    If you just want word (but you will probably need Excel at some point) that will run you about the same as office, might as well get the whole deal!:)

    Is there anything free that would work just as well as that for my papers.because i really dont have the extra cash for it as i just bought a truck so i can get there and back.

    It's good. It's weak in some of the more esoteric things like powerpoint presentations, but it's a complete suite, and does great for common tasks that you'll need. And it can save your essays in Word's .doc format if you need to turn any of them in in computer form.

    There is a learning curve if you are used to the MS way of doing editing in a word processor. If you ever have used WordPerfect/corel, where you use keyboard shortcuts instead of the mouse then it is a bit easier... But for free you have what you asked for- a good word processor. There is plenty of online support and help files also.
