Where to go?

I'm having issues with a couple of things. Skype is suddenly giving me a blank blue sky/rainbow scene on startup. And I'm trying to install McAfee but it keeps having issues and is stuck on a loop of "click here and McAfee will fix whatever issue is keeping you from installing or something like that" - I think they're both related (javascript?) but I'm not sure which category this belongs in - malware or software. Where should I post for help?
