Where To Put Boot Loader On Separate HD Install?

My new HD will be here tomorrow for a dedicated PCLOS install. I've been doing a lot of reading in order not to have any surprises but I'm getting two different views on where to put GRUB. Some say to put it on my Windows XP HD (Master) and others say it should go on the Linux HD (Slaved). What I want to be able to do is start my PC with the option of which OS to use. I don't want to have to change boot priorities in the bios to access the OSs. I'm telling ya, getting the straight scoop on a simple install is tough with Linux. The Installation instructions for PCLOS is geared toward dual booting on a single drive. I'm a noob, so please try to keep it simple. Thanks.
Any other tips would be appreciated.

You can put it on the MBR of the primary drive, and it will setup a dual boot for XP/nix.
