Where's "open in new tab"?

My ability to right click a link and select "open in new tab" is gone. I don't know if I ever had it in IE8, but I thought I did. Tabbed browsing is enabled in the internet options and under that, quick tab and tab groups.

as mentioned this is already selected. the only things that aren't selected are "always switch to new tabs..." and "open only the first..."

surely those will not make the difference I want. I just want the option in my right click menu when I click on a link.

 

Try and unclick the check box and close the browser. the open the browser and recheck the box. close the browser one last time and open it it.

Or, have you already done that. It does requirer browser restart and the registry could be messed up. By going thru these steps might correct your issue.

How you scanned for malware/spyware/virus'? Just checking.

You could also uninstalled IE8 and that will return you to IE7. Once you have IE7 installed, if you want, you can upgrade to IE8 again to see if that helps. $.02
