where's the wireless gone

Ok the other day I tried to log on to the internet with my HP dv6000 and it did not work. it seems that it did not see my router, so I checked to make sure everything was plugged in and had power which it did. next I went to see if I could use a a very old laptop that I have and it saw the router, this told me that it had to be my computer. at first I throught that it was a hardware issue, so I tried to go to HP wireless manager to see if I could use the program to troubleshoot it. when I tried to open it, I get an hourglass for a half a second and then nothing. this should work no matter what the status of that the card. I removed and reinstalled hp wireless manager and nothing. . I posted to the malware fourm to makie sure that It was not a virus issue. they have given me a clean bill of health would someone please help me with this.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for your wireless? Sounds like they may have been corrupted. Also, be sure to do a full virus/malware scan. I'm guessing they already hit on that in the other forum, but still have to mention it. Also, if you're using a wireless card, try it in another machine (that you know is working right) to be sure it isn't a hardware issue. If it's built in, disregard that.

The thing is with this particular model the fans arnt very affective and inside the wireless card has melted you can buy a usb wireless wlan but your laptop will probably break soon due to overheat as i have had the same problem and the same model
