    1. Brand and model of computer?
    2. Operating sustem running?
    3. look in device manager under cd and see if you can discover the model
    4. If the DVD is ROM it will not be able to burn anything; that's why the make and model of computer helps. We can find the specs and learn if your DVD drive is only a reader or a burner too.
    5. Burning software tried?

The samsung dvd-rom sd616f is only a reader.
The sh-s182d is also showing as a Samsung brand. I looked up tsst corp and it seems to be Toshiba Samsung.
The chart at the bottom of this page, shows what is supported and the speeds.

I do not use Nero so I can't help you troubleshoot that.

Now if you are downloading video, my first thought is that it could be very large. Some videos need dual layer DVDs which your burner does not support.
Right click the video and check the size.
DVD-R and DVD+R disks will hold 4.7GB. Is your video smaller than that?

What is the extension on the video you are burning?

What version of Nero are you using?

Have you tried any other burning programs?

vid is only 701mb in an avi format. the nero is nero suite 6...the other dvd burner on the system is sonic mydvd which is even cranker. i might add this is on a spare set up i have(donated by son-in-law) in my basement that is on a wireless net work and i use it to access the net and buy and download vids as i dont want to tie up may main system on the net which is compaq presario with memory upgrade for autocad, mastercam, solidworks and other engineering software that needs a bunch of memory to quickly do all the drawing and design junk i usually do.
thanks for taking an interest :wave
