Which Category dor a "Driver Clean-up" Program

    My AMD Tech Support person sent me for this, here --> http://www.afterdawn.com/software/security/system_cleanup/driver_cleaner_pro.cfm

    to clean-up AMD Catalyst v12.3 which has been totally problematic trying to upgrade from.

    I searched for Driver-Cleaner-Pro here at Majorgeeks (basically to check it out, first, and then perhaps look for an alternative), and I get this page-->

    however, I don't know which category a "driver cleaner" program would fall into here. Would ""Revo" handle this job, please?

    Quick correction: Driver removal programs are an outdated concept overall. You should be able to remove the driver and clean your registry BUT I say outdated because most driver installs now do it for you. Let me know how you make out.

    Yeah, thanks again..though I appreciate the correction, now I'm less confident on how to proceed.

    Here is what AMD sent me:

    Dear Glenn,

    We have released our new driver it not called 12.7 it now 12.8 driver.
    I would like you to uninstall 12.3 and install 12.8 provided in the link below.

    Am I to uninstall/reinstall 12.3 "now", and then wait for the 12.7
    release, or wait for 12.7, the uninstall/reinstall 12.3 just prior to
    installing 12.7, please?

    Yes, uninstall the driver under programs or add\remove programs and install the one they sent you a link to.
