Which chip ? I'm Confused

Hi,

I am in the process of buying a new laptop and have got a bit bogged down with the choice of chip.
I reckon I have narrowed my choice down to either a PC containing the
AMD Turion RM74 Dual Core 2.2 GHz or the AMD Athlon X" QL Dual core 2.1 GHz.
Could anyone enlighten me as to which is the best choice and why ?

I would take the Athlon 2 as it's newer.

I think it should be good as between the two it's only 100 MHz difference. Tho the newer one is clocked slower I think it would be better as it most likely has a smaller core and uses less power which means more battery life.

 

I ordered a new Sony laptop from shopnbc.com and they oversold the item. Long story short the shipment has been delayed, to compensate they say they are upgradeing from a T4200 Intel Pentium Dual core 2.0 GHZ to a Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo processor. Is this really a upgrade? and if so how much of a good thing is this???

Sorry Terry I can't help you. I find the vast array of chips confusing. It would be nice to find a good reference source but even then I suspect it would not be that easy. I do know I would be wary of this "upgrade" and continue to look for the answer.
