    Hi
I play WW2 strategy games most 3 years and older and I am finding that some on my present setup are freezing the screen. I also use the pc for various tasks email ,Skype etc.
The biggest in my arsenal will be Company of Heros 2 so do not want to buy something that is more than required. I have put together these two configurations and now ask which would be right to choose.
Also is a cheaper 2 gig Graphics card better than a more expensive 1 gig.
So would appreciate an opinion . Thank you

This is not an easy recommendation as gaming is a very personal experience. Some cannot tolerate anything under 60 FPS, others don't care all the way down to 30 FPS. Eye candy is another personal preference.
I always go with the better specs, the satisfaction of a cheap price does not last long.
1G RAM sticks are probably a bad idea, go with at least 2G sticks and maybe 4G but stay over 4G total and check your MB specs for compatibility and optimal slot positioning.

PSUs are over specced for your selection of components, a quality (XFX/Seasonic) 400W+ would be fine.

Cheap 2GB cards use GDDR3 whereas most 1GB cards use faster GDDR5; 2GB will hold more textures, 1 GB will deliver faster and smoother.

Simulator games are usually CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound. The more cores the better for the newer games; higher GHZ single threaded for the older games; Intel's usually preferred over AMD's.

Going 2x2/2x4GB RAM is better than 4x..., leaves 2 free slots for future upgrades.

    Good day Satrow

Thank you for your comments and I take note.I was worried that the new CPU,Board etc etc would need more power. My present old Dell 5150 has 350W.
I was looking at upgrading it but looking at part prices versus new build one would seem to be better off going for the new build. ??. In regard to the card thats is enlightening and I think the 2 G will do me as I dont want them coming at me any faster hah hah.

    regards

    HI

I agree with the posts the others have made and just have one addition so far in HDD, whichever HDD you go for get a SATA III one.
