Which CPU To Buy?

hey guys, I'm just thinking about getting myself a new CPU I've narrowed my search down to just 2 different processors. One of which has a clock speed of 2.2Ghz and a 1MB cache, and the other has a clock of 2.4Ghz and a 512Kb cache. Which of the 2 should I go for? Personally I would of though the 2.4Ghhz would of been the better one.

more cache is better all around. the slight increase in MHZ might be noticed in very CPU intensive apps (audio filtering, video encoding..) but the extra cache will be 'quicker' overall.

also, it would be pretty simple to achieve a 200mhz overclock on the 3700+ if you desired to, so it would be 2.4ghz and have 1MB cache. (althought it will be plenty fast as it is now, and you probably wont bother overclocking)

 

Yeah, definitely the 3700+ with double the cache.

 

How much is that in American Dollars $.....?
At 2.4GHz you wont notice the Difference in cache

In US the 3800 can be had for about $145 & the 3700 is about $189

If not OCing get the 3800, If ya OC gotta go for the 3700 she's better at it
Another to consider if you OC is the opteron 146 most can OC to 3Ghz aprox $175

yeah the 3700+ sandy is a great over clocker too. 1mb of cache is nice. you might not see a big difference over 512 though but some games like it.
