Which Driver Is Running My Displays? Conflict?

Greetings,

I am attempting to fix a Windows Explorer stopped working error.
M$oft's first advice is to make sure video driver is updated
I would also appreciate knowing that I have no conflicts.

Under Device Manager, I see two.
(A) AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series (this is a card I added)
(B) Mirage Driver.


I have two dissimilar displays plugged into the AMD card.
Also have AMD Catalyst Control Center.
Of course, Win7x64 has its own set of settings

For A and B, above: Properties, Driver tab, Update drivers, Search internet - shows both (A) and (B) to be current.

1) - What is Mirage Driver?
Is that associated with Team Viewer app that I use to work on mom's computer remotely, or what?

2) - Is there a way to make sure there are no conflicts anywhere?

3) - Is there anything else I should ask about?

The Mirage Driver is mostly used by VNC. Did you try it before you chose Teamviewer?
If you go to Programs and Features in the control panel, you can click on the date installed label and it will sort everything by that date so you can see what it came with.

 

I am bad with dates, sort of. I don't remember anything about "VNC". I did use LogMeIn before I switched to TeamViewer. I was excited to see the dates line-up, but, um, since Mirage or DemoForge, or afew other iterations found online are not listed in Programs and Features, well, nothing to compare. The only date I can find is the driver date of 2008 - before I built this machine. Great idea, though. Thanks.

Keep in mined, even though it says it is current doesn't mean it is not corrupted.

So go back to the device manager, right-click, and uninstall it. BTW, that 2008 is the date on the driver file, not the date you installed it.
