Which File Extensions Media Player Classic ?

I have just installed Media Player Classic and have been having a good browse round the functions and options. Clicking "View" then "Options" then "Player" in the side bar , then "Formats" brings up a list of File Extensions which can be selected. By default none are ticked and I haven't got the slightest clue if I should select some,all or none.
I have read the help file but it doesn't help.
The player does play what I have asked it to up to now so perhaps I need do nothing.
I have got the K-Lite Mega Codec installed.
If there is anyone out there who could help it would be appreciated.

Hey alex, that is what is known as "file associations" whatever ones of those boxes you tick, the respective file types will play automaticaly in WMP.

For example... if you tick the box next to the .mp3 extension when you right click an mp3 file and click "play" it will automatically play the file with Windows media payer..... and the same goes for any extension you tick

[you can do this for virtually any player... not just WMP]

I have my music files assciated with "helium music manager" so they auto play with that..

I have my Video files associated with "VLC" so they auto play with that
