    Ok...

I find this kind of a hard decision.

I have been using Norton Internet Security for a long time. The other day I got sick of how many processes and whatnot it took up.

So I switched to Avast! 4.6 Home Edition/ ZoneAlarm Firewall...Well I added it all up, This current setup is taking up alot more memory than Nortons did...

On my other PC I have Kerio and Avast! 4.6 Which have kept that PC pretty solid as far security goes.

I'm in this Dilema because I'm a pretty serious gamer and since I switched some of my games have been rather...Well eww in performance.

    I don't know why...

So I ask for you're opinions. Which is better, Kerio or Zonealarm?

I'm contemplating very seriously going to Kerio cause it uses less memory.

Note: I also use Ewido Anti-Malware PRO version too.

nod32 or ez trust antivirus are very light antivirus not sure about about free ones. take a look at this it will help you pick a good antivirus:

I think most people will say they haven't really had a issue with software firewalls. NIS is bloatware ( at least 2005 version-i know from experience) so anything should be better than that. They Kerio and Zone alarm both have free versions, so give both a try and see for yourself, and see what you think. personally i think zonealarm is better.

    good luck.

My vote is for Kerio. I've used it for quite a while now and have no complaints-- other than random denial of access to certain things on my Local Network, even when permissions are set correctly... but those are few and very far between (and far less common than i've seen with ZA).

I never liked the feel of ZoneAlarm, it seems bloated and over-simplified. I love having Kerio in Advanced (Learning) mode, so I know everything thats going on (you'd be amazed how much ad/spyware you can avoid simply by denying certain things during program installs ;) )

I'm also an Avast + Kerio guy, and while I'll agree that Avast can sometimes be annoying, its the best free antivirus i've come across.

My favorite is Sygate........I just let it run in the background unless I want to work with it.
