Which graphic card?

Having a tough time deciding which AGP graphic card to upgrade from my ATI Radeon 9600xt 256mb. Help me out :)

    1) ATI Radeon X800XT 256mb
    2) GeForce 6800GT 256mb
    3) GeForce 6800Ultra 256mb

Obviously I would like to go for the Ultra but cost is holding me back. If I were to shell out, it would be a tough decision between the X800XT and the Ultra. However, I could be a good boy and save some money by going for the 6800GT. Herein lies another dilemma - I want this graphic card to be decent enough to last me another 2-3 years as I won't be upgrading my mobo/processor for that time.

    Opinions?

    Thanks everyone :)

6800ultra, or 6800gt and overclock. But I am partial to Nvidia since going from a 9600pro to 6600gt, (I love my new 6600gt)
But yes I would get the 6800 ultra if I had the money.

For me, the difference between the GT and the Ultra is $210 AUS and $150 for the X800ST, so if I can get close to X800XT/Ultra performance by overclocking the GT, I think that sounds like a winner as I hear the Ultra and X800XT don't have much room for overclocking?

Just wondering if there's any major difference between different brands for the same graphic card? I am pretty sure I will go for the 6800GT but I can't make up my mind between the few different manufacturers, ie. Asus, Gigabyte, Hercules, XpertVision, etc. Obviously the dilemma arises when the cost for the same card differs by about $100 between manufacturers.

I recommend whichever one you go for and getting a NV silencer 5; tests show it drops the temp about 30c stock! Waiting for mines in the mail! When comparing mfg always look at the core/ram clocked speeds and the ram timings. The higher the core/ram is the better for you, the higher the ram timing (ie 2.3ns vs. 2.6ns) the worse off you are. So go for higher clocks and lower ram timings.

I would be looking more at comparing price, length and quality of warranty and support, what connectors they have (eg VIVO), and the bundled software you get rather than the performance of each one.

The 6800ultra isnt worth it and the 800xt doesn't have pixel shader 3.0 a la farcry and a few soon to be released games. :)

Yeah that's what I deduced too Rikky :)

I'm actually not too fussed about connectors/bundled software because I hardly use any of them - I just want a VGA card that will perform (without spending too much). I know it's difficult - pay peanuts and get monkeys theory. That's why I was seeking the opinions about any difference in performance between manufacturers offering the same VGA card.

Looks like a Gigabyte 6800GT 256mb AGP card is the current go for me - opinions people? Aye, or nay?
