Which companies Virus Protection, Firewall and Internet Security is the best to use

 

If you ask most people here, they'll tell you that it's better to have a combination of different products, such as Avast or AVG for virus scanners, and McAfee or Blackice for Firewall.
There are some good free downloads in the downloads section on this site, I recommend you take a look at them.

 

I'm doing pretty good using AVG7, SpyBot, WinPatrol, Ad-AwareSE, and ZoneAlarm Free. Good Luck. OLB

 

I prefer Norton for anti-virus, Zone-Alarm pro for firewall just because it has the best options for port forwarding and ICS and for spyware Spybot search and Destroy + Adaware SE Personal. The new Microsoft Spyware beta is ok too.

 

Only problem with the Micro$$oft AntiSpyware is it doesn't support 98 or N.T.

They bought it from Giant, and it fully supported all the operating systems and done a good job, then Micro$$oft removed support for the others, as it doesn't really care about people using anything but XP, 2000 or Server 2003.

Anyway, for Firewall, Agnitum Outpost, ZoneAlarm or Sygate are all excellent and offer free and paid for Pro versions.

For AntiVirus, Norton, McAfee, Avast, AVG, Kaspersky and F-Prot to name a few are all good. Avast and AVG both make free products. Most also make free online scans available.

For Spy and Adware, SpyBot, Adaware Personal (Both free). SpySweeper and SpyDoctor are also very good but aren't free.

A lot of these products are available from the download section here, and there is plenty of advice and recommendations in the Spyware Forum.

No one product can do it all, so you will need a combination of them.
