Which is the best router?

Hello Everyone,
Harvey here. I need some help on deciding which router I should purchase. Just recently I purchased a laptop off of ebay for $810. The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite P25 series. A Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.0 Ghz with a 17" wide screen. It has just about everything that a geek might want. What I need to know is which wireless router should I buy to work with this monster of a laptop? Right now I am using time warner roadrunner but in the future I will also be using dail-up. So could someone please point me in the right direction to a good router that has both capabilities and really good security. This is my very first laptop that I have ever owned and this will also be my very first wireless router. Plus any little tricks that anyone would know about securing the router better. I very much appreciate everyone's views on these subject matters.
