Which MoBo & CPU?

Hiya Guys!


My dad is looking for a decent motherboard and cpu ...but he's not a hardcore computer person. He doesn't even play games! ::gasp:: He uses it mostly for surfing the web and writing papers and downloading pictures off his camera. But he came to me for advice on what kind of motherboard and cpu he should get since he's not looking to spend a lot but to have a decent reliable peice of equpiment that he can add stuff to as he goes. This is what I suggested ....which one would you pick? And which CPU would you recommend?

Well if its the cheaper alternative your after, you can never go wrong with AMD chipsets, they are fast, reliable, stable, and cheap(er) so if cost is the issue id go with whichever is the cheapest option out of the ones you have suggested, however make sure your current hardware is completely compatible with the new set up and you get a upgraded PSU (400W should be ample)

 

i'd go with the gigabyte nforce 3 socket 939,its the newest cpu socket,costs about the same as the others and the nforce3 has spritier harddrive access+memory access which will help pages load faster and the OS run quicker.
