    My brothers looking at getting a new computer and he was given these possible build ideas, he doesn't really play any games on the computer, just uses it for internet, music, and other everyday use, but he woiuld like it to be upgradable in case he needs more power in the future. He'd like to keep the cost under $700 or lower

    Build 1 isn't too bad except for the abyssmally pathetic video card. If you took the video card from Build 2, put it in Build 1, and brought the hard drive up to 250gb, then Build 1 would actually be pretty good PC for the price. You should try to spend a bit more on the CPU also, like a 4800+ AMD64X2 or better.

    like dlb said, vid card from build 2, 250 gb hdd, and a faster processor. You also may need to purchase a powersupply, and the prebundled ones are usually very cheaply built.
