Which ones do I need?

Hi, everyone. I'm new at all of this and trying to see what I need or is just slowing me down, computer that is. I did msconfig and this is what I came up with:

And in my lower left corner of screen I have:

local area connection ( a network cable is unpluged )

windows messenger ( which I do not use and will remove now )
synaptics touch pad
adware

I looking to speed up my laptop and other advise would be greatly appicatied, Thanks Bubba

Most of what you see there are not necessary: I'd suggest doing some research on each one, see which ones are just helpers (AAWTray, lxdxmon, ezprint, the ATI tools) and updaters (Nerocheck), and use StartupCPL (http://majorgeeks.com/Startup_CPL_d619.html) to manage them...

Before you use a start up manager, revert msconfig to normal.
