Processors are kind of a matter of personal preference. You can find benchmarks that will prove this CPU is faster than that CPU, or processor 'A' is "better" than processor 'B', and so on. I think that CPUs are so fast these days that either one will be fine. It used to be that many gamers preferred AMD processors because they were easier to overclock, but Intel CPUs tended to be more stable and run cooler. But this was a couple of years back. IMHO, the two main CPU makers have very similar products, and both companies make quality products. Personally, I run a A64 X2 5400+. I bought it mainly because it had the performance I wanted in the price range I was looking at. If Intel would have had an equal CPU for less, I would have purchased it. For me, it's performance per dollar spent, and in this area, I think AMD comes out on top. Their chips are generally a bit more affordable.

    Intel duo core is king

There's more to notebook then just the processor, same story for gaming

Funny the best rated notebook for running Vista is a MacBook, I wounder what Bill gates thinks of that:D

I'll second dlb's remarks. For most users, it probably doesn't make much difference. Go for the most bang for the buck.
