Which Program hijacks my Internet connection?

Every once in a while as soon as I log onto my ISP, the modem shows data is moving from my PC to the internet and back, sometimes for 5 minutes or more with no browser open. I have turned off all automatic update connections that I can find, but to no avail. I would like to have a program that can tell me which program or file on my PC has ordered the connection to the internet. Alternately, I'd like a program that can display the website that I'm connecting to (without the aid of a browser). I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. I'm running Norton Antivirus and I manually update the files daily. I also run Advanced System Care, which is run occasionally to remove spyware.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

You can try this: http://wandering-ips.com It will give you what currports gives plus remote IP location and domain info.

Thanks for the suggestion. It looks like CurrPorts will be very helpful.

Another MG user suggested a freeware program (cports) that will satisfy my needs. Just the same, thanks for taking the time to offer your help.
