Which threads do you read?

I've been away for just over a weekand have logged on this evening to see what has been happening. I always scroll through the pages to see where I last got to. But I've noticed that I'll always read any thread that has been closed (why do I do that :confused ) and I'll nearly always look at any post that has a zero answer count but only as long as the thread title isn't something like "Pleeze help" which just makes me mad :mad. Give me a clue as to what you want and I'll know whether I've a chance of helping.

Does anyone else out there do the same or is it just me who is slightly mad? :foolish

    I read all threads.

Have to say I agree, thread titles do make me pay attention more when they have a proper title, those I do goto first followed by any of the "pweeze help" ones that have zero posts, but I do tend to read as many threads as possible.

My criteria (lol..if you can call it thatLOL):

Thread title: I read the ones that have topics I'm interested in. So yes, the ones that have no indication for what they are for, I mostly ignore.

Amount of responses: If I didn't find the title interesting, but a lot of people are responding, I take a look.

Locked threads: LOL I look at these too.

Tech forum threads: I only look at the ones that I have any hope of understanding what the heck anyone is talking about. :-D

Malware threads: I love reading these for some reason.

Original poster: Sometimes I'll read a thread just cause of the person starting it.

I guess thats why i got no reply to my thread below Laura ;)

I always like the locked threads always a good laugh there or a great fight that i missed ;)

I read most of them, but I don't reply to everyone I read. The key is looking at the views of each thread (next to the reply count). Then you know people read it, but either had nothing worth replying with, or didn't feel the need to reply with anything....

I usually fall in the first category. I read a lot of threads that I don't feel I have anything of use to add to them or comments to make, so I read and move on.

No real logic to it, just an individual thing

Like some of you - if it says "n00b pwease help" etc then I'll ignore it. Simply because when posting a thread it says to have the title related rather than just ask for help.

Read most new threads. Some spark my interest a lot more than others. Interesting topic, (obviously), sometimes if it's someone I talk to a lot. locked threads are usually good for the 'morbid factor', lol. ;)

Some trick you pulled here in the Lounge, then!

I'm the same with locked threads, and 0 replies. The other times, the title "caught my eye".... but I'm not sure what does that, specifically.

Locked threads too, sometimes they're interesting or even funny if MA's the one that last commented. The lounge and esp. the music threads. Software and hardware of course, but only stuff that is interesting to me, like a weird problem with a popular app, and I even reply to some that I'm comfortable with and relatively knowledgeable about the topic at hand. I just scan the titles in malware to see what the newest trends are.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who read the locked threads at least. :-D

Got to agree with Mada that sometimes a title that piques my interest will make me read it at the very least.

After I submit my daily update of programs released each day at www.majorgeeks.com (see http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=158564 for this months' example), I read Software, Hardware, Lounge, Interesting Links in that sequence every day. I look for threads that I have previously replied to, to see if anyone else has replied.

In each Forum I check out any subject that interests me, or that I think I can reply to. Software Forum (mainly), or post any Interesting links that I think may be of interest to MG'ers.

After I get to Interesting links, I usually go through them all again to check out if anyone has replied to anything I am interested in since the first time around. :-D
