Next week I start putting together my new computer:
    Abit IS-7, P4 2.60c, Radeon 9600 Pro, Twinmos Twister PC3500 (2x256 MB), Seagate 80 GB, ...
Planned disk organization: 1st primary partition FAT32 - 3 GB (win98se), 2nd primary partition NTFS - 4 GB (Win XP - will install later), extended partition with 3 or 4 logical partitions.

Can someone please tell me, can I install DirectX 9 on Win98SE partition (as far as I know the above graphics card supports it).
Thank you for your answers and other suggestions.

Your welcome........... and this didnt register until today BUT I would be tempted to make your XP partition a little bigger than 4gbs as XP is a big beastie ( my windows folder on a fresh install with most updates and SP1a is around 1.7gbs just for the core files ) so I would personally be aiming for a partition around 10gb to give enough space for XP and whatever apps you are going to install.

    Thanks for the tip!
OK, I'll make my XP partition bigger - but not 10 GB, though. At the moment I have no intention of making any XP updates, neither will I use the system restore option, so about 5 or 6 GB should be enough.
(I have been running win98 for a couple of years without any updates or problems). :)
