This is a dell slimline case with a DG33M05 motherboard. Foxcon??? Never put a card in before, but am sure they need to be "low profile" to fit in the case. Which card should I use? I just replaced the power supply which is also slimline and will move it downstairs. Hence the need for wifi.

If space is at a premium inside the case, why not a USB wifi dongle?

Another thought is to use a powerline adapter kit.

You plug one unit into an outlet close to the router and run CAT cable from the unit to the router.

The other unit gets plugged in downstairs and you run CAT cable from the NIC to the unit.

I had my husband's two computers in the basement "wired" to the upstairs router for several years. Now he is just using one computer that way because I pulled his XP unit off the internet.

Problem with this 545s is the shortage of USB ports. Skype camera, keyboard, speakers, mouse, printer, scanner, not to mention Iphone, Kindle, Sony camera. If I use a 4 port hub, some things stop working. Thats why I was thinking card. The new Power supply is 450 watt as opposed to old 275.
