I use a router supplied by TalkTalk its a EchoLife HG520b wireless router(currently wired connection)and want to go wireless.
Can anyone please suggest a suitable PCI wireless card, easy to set up, (I have listed some I've seen advertised below) supporting XP and compatible with this router. Wireless access for gdaughters laptop is main reason for switch.
Currently router is upstairs next to PC cabled to downstairs telephone master socket, I intend moving router downstairs close to telephone socket.
If wireless speed to PC was poor could I revert to using a long ethernet cable for PC but still have wireless capability for laptop?

Is it advisable to go for G or N standard?
Or any other cards you can recommend please
    Thank you

    Hi Pavlos,

Have you also considered the possibility of getting a USB wireless adaptor for your laptop or PC? At least this way if you ever need to have wireless connection in the future you won't have to purchase another wireless card. A USB wireless adaptor also means you can be more flexible with your wireless connection.

Thanks Matthew & Madchanic, the laptop already has wireless set up its just that my PC is wired, and the router is currently not set up for wireless. I really wanted to know if I could set up the router so that the laptop could access internet wirelessly and at the same time keep my PC wired or will I have both wireless, in which case does any one know of a good PC adapter?
    Thank you,
    Pavlos

Yes, most home routers accept wired and wireless connections at the same time.
