Whiteboard replacement needed

Hi, wonder if anyone here has a suggestion how I can deliver the following...

The company I work for has a sales department. On their wall there is a whiteboard with a simple table drawn on it. Each staff member has a row and there is a column for each weekday. Every day a running total for each staff member is handwritten into the relevant box, the numbers going up as the day goes on. A running weekly total is also kept updated. At the end of the week all boxes are wiped clean and they start again.

The general manager asked me whether we can replace this with a large video screen, displaying the same information in some way. This information needs to be easily editable by various staff members (preferably in a 'back end' of some kind). He would also like the option to trigger some kind of 'celebration graphics' each time a deal comes in. This probably would mean the screen flashing and the staff member/deal details being diplayed for a short while.

That's the gist of it. Not sure where to start to be honest. Is there anything out there for doing this kind of thing, before I attempt to write it myself?
