Who can I contact to design a computer game?

I'm just thinking ahead (and thinking big right now), but I have a great idea for a game that will be part of a bigger marketing venture.

Where should I start looking for a designer for my game? I don't need to start at the top, as I believe there are many unrecognized talented people out there who can do a great job.

Any suggestions, or personal experiences with such a venture would be welcomed.

Microsoft recently released a free beta of their game developing software:

i havent had a chance to try it out yet but it looks cool. it has tons of tutorials too.

 

Thanks viper_boy, that could be an option. Looked interesting. I've bookmarked it and will spend a little time trying to figure out who I could enlist to help use it.

Well... i have an idea too about one game...

I haven't thought about releasing it... nor designing...
I guess it would make a great internet game...

 

From what I've read, Microsoft XNA Game Studio Express is for developing xbox 360 games. The kit is free, but you'd have to pay a $100 usd yearly fee for releasing the games. FWIW, Xbox Live Arcade is very popular among gamers. Basically, developers release games for free try-outs there & charge a small fee like $10 per game if the gamer wants the full version.
